Elizabeth has been singing all her life and has been training for the past few years with both Jill Meager of Hillside Singers and Julien Chilcott-Monk of Vox Humana. She has recently been concentrating on the clear, vibrato-free style required for mediæval music and now increasingly expected for the Handelian and even later repertoires, following the lead of singers such as Emma Kirkby. Elizabeth, known affectionately as Lizzie to her friends, regularly sings solo parts with Hillside Singers, Hillside Opera and Vox Humana. Her fine versatile mezzo-soprano embraces a large and varied repertoire: the sacred and the secular; the ancient and the modern; folk song and musical; lieder and opera. She is singing in the Monday and Thursday performances of the Hillside Opera 'Marriage of Figaro', 11-14 October 1999 at The Point, Eastleigh. Two of the works currently sung by Elizabeth were written specially for her. She may be booked for Concerts and Recitals - contact Julien Chilcott-Monk on 01962 869035, Judy Finn, judy.finn@cimaglobal.com or Trevor Gilson, trgilsonuk@yahoo.co.uk in the first instance.
