Fo'c'sle Programme September 2003

5 Opening Night - Anything Goes

At our "Anything Goes" evenings, come to listen, perform, make friends or just to fetch the beer. If you have some new songs, tunes or stories from the Festivals to share with everyone, so much the better.

12 Geoff Jerram & Steve Jordan

Steve

Geoff has been coming to the Fo'c'sle since a teenager and he and Steve have sung together informally on many occasions. A past Squire of the Morris Ring, Geoff is a long-term member of Men of Wight and Winchester Morris (he has been Squire of the former and is current Squire of the latter). He plays concertina and guitar and has some songs on Steve's new CD. Steve was brought up in rural Devon, frequented the farm and the Baptist Chapel (which expected Sunday School pupils to be able to recite in public from the age of 6 or 7) and early became interested in traditional music. He and Geoff made their recording débuts (with Dave Williams and others) on the Forest Tracks "Folk Songs from Hampshire" (and "from Dorset") albums in the early 1970s. Steve took the leading role in Mick Ryan's historical musical drama "A Day's Work" and also delights in music hall songs
