"There's no daylight between Jack's and other writers songs" (Malcolm Bishop. Bournemouth.)

Reviews

"A writer and player and singer of superb songs who is supposedly too country for some folk clubs and too folky for some country music clubs. A marvellous night"
(Pete Griffin. Country Music Round Up)

"Last years visit being one of our best nights ever! Jack returns with top drawer material, much of which is his own."
(Nick Wescott. Eastbourne)

"The songs are great, and it was such a joy to experience them. Reminiscent of some of our favorite songwriters, Guy Clark, Jimmy Webb, Jerry Jeff Walker and Ed Bruce. Brilliant use of metaphors, intelligent, complete storylines, furthermore, we really like your voice and deliveries. Totally refreshing."
(Steven Hawkins & Charlotte Hannon. Atlanta Music Group)

This is just so beautiful Jack. Real easy contented listening. Boy do you have excellent vocals !!! So much expression, lights and shade and emotions. I'll treasure this album. I just know my listeners will love this top Five star plus album. In fact, I'm gonna get my guitar out and pick and do ya harmony vocals !!! Cheeky aye??? Love "The Rainbows Gold" "If we Could only Fly" by golly gosh, that is such a beautiful track Jack. Ya have a number one fan in me mate !!! "The Calm before the Storm".... sooooooo beautiful........ "Stay with Me"..... ole buster is there somewhere (he he) love it !!! "Now the memories Begin"........ you are such a gifted, talented singer/songwriter Jack, all 9 tracks are just superb. Are you in touch with Tom Cunningham much??? The reason I ask, is that he phones me regularly, re artists etc... I'd dearly love to see this album get heaps of airplay from world wide D.J's. Tom has always spoken so highly of you.

Take care, Kind wishes,

Jack and Malcolm at Solent Folk Festival 2003

Visitors to the Solent FF 2003 Sunday Concert and Railway Regulars will certainly remember Jack - another of those best-kept secrets who would be famous in a just world. As Sooty Broughton (of the now sadly defunct Railway) remarked "He can come back to my Club anytime he likes". 'Too Folky for the Country audience and too Country for a Folk Club' he may be, but he suits the Shieldhall to a 'T'. Don't miss this major event.

Malcolm Bishop brought his great friend Jack Hudson along to our 2003 Solent Folk Festival where they played a couple of duets as well as startling the thin Sunday audience with Jack's solo set. Malcolm (from Bournemouth) is well-known to the West Hants/East Dorset audience and used to appear regularly at Clubs in that area including the old 'New Xpress', but was off the scene for a while with voice problems. Happily he is now back to full strength and we look forward eagerly to his support set.

The Shieldhall is back on her regular Berth 48. Concert 8-11.15pm. Tickets £5 (no concs) advance only. Dock Gate 4 (tell security you are going to the Shieldhall Concert) then first right and on to the end of the road. Park nearby, but please don't block emergency access.

19 Graham Moore

(instead of Tim Laycock who is rebooked 15 April 2005)
Well-loved and nationally-respected Dorset singer/songwriter with his feet firmly in the tradition and the writer of the unforgettable folk musical dramas ‘England Expects', ‘Last of England', ‘Tolpuddle Man' and ‘Dick O'The Banks' performed by his folk theatre company ‘Endangered Species', Graham (guitar, English concertina) has appeared at major Folk Festivals countrywide (inc Sidmouth, Whitby and the National) singing his thoroughly addictable songs - "A Tolpuddle Man", "Tom Paine's Bones", "The Soil is in my Soul" (and many more) as well as such traditional songs as "What's the Life of a Man", "Night Visiting", "Nelson's Praise". His own songs are sung and recorded by many artistes in the UK and Australia, including Dick Gaughan and Roy Bailey and he is delighted when folks join in the chorus songs (not that anyone can stop themselves), so polish up your voices and bring them along.

Note that owing to a misunderstanding and much to our regret and his, Tim Laycock is unavailable and has been postponed to 15 April.
