First visit to the Fo'c'sle for this widely known and respected Welsh couple, seen by several members on their regular appearances at Miskin!
Hailing from North Wales, Trefor & Vicki are fine singers and guitarists (also playing mandocello and fiddle) performing everything from beautiful medieval songs to traditional folk and celtic music/tunes right through to contemporary songs (including some lovely inspirational self-penned and some Welsh language) with a capella harmonies a speciality. For several years now they've graced Clubs and Concerts all over and a great many Festivals, including Celtic Connections, Whitby and Broadstairs (some folks may have seen them at Miskin). They also run workshops, have featured on several BBC local Radio Stations and they have 3 CDs.
A few quotes :
".. immediately impressed with their obvious empathy, quiet assurance, distinctive vocal harmonies and playing style..."
- Traditional Music Maker
"Attractively sung and played ... time very pleasantly passed... "
- fRoots
"...Original songs that are as varied as they are enjoyable..."
Sticks.
Two superb traditionalists from Newfoundland, last here in July 2003, with vocals, guitar, 'cello and fiddle.

Pete is well-known at the Fo'c'sle, often appearing with Mick Ryan or solo. Tonight he will be presenting a partly blues programme together with his accomplished colleague Simon Prager (Vocal and Guitar) who was a member of the ‘South London Blues Mafia’ which grew up around the late Queen of the Blues - Joanne Kelly. He performed and recorded extensively with Ace harmonica player Steve Rye and Boogie Pianist Bob Hall as ‘The All Star Medicine Show’. He has also appeared on British Blues compilation albums along with the likes of Albert Lee, Eric Clapton and Rod Stewart!
Simon’s style is influenced by Rev Gary Davis, Brownie McGhee and Blind Blake and his repertoire ranges from Ragtime, Jazz and Country Blues through to Vaudeville and Music Hall.
Pete Harris has been active on the South Coast blues scene for over twenty-five years. With the Bob Pearce Blues Band he gigged extensively in England and Europe, recording a "live" album on the prestigious Blue Horizon label. He has subsequently led various incarnations of the Pete Harris Blues Band, recognised as one of the leading blues bands on the South Coast.). Pete has performed on stage with many American blues artistes, notably Phil Guy, (brother of Buddy Guy), Lowell Fulson, Tabby Thomas, Gene "Mighty Flea" Connors, Mojo Buford (ex Muddy Waters Band), Byther Smith, Carrie and Lurrie Bell and Jerry McCain. He has appeared on BBC Television, SouthamptonTV, Portsmouth TV and many times on local and national radio.
What they say:
"To find a better blues guitarist than Pete Harris you would probably have to go to Chicago" (Southampton Jazz Society)
"Pete......is a lead guitar player of deceptive skill and emotional depth. His playing appeals to the head and to the feet." (Blueprint)
"Pete Harris is a baaad man!" (Mojo Buford)
