From the Bursledon Rd. end of Warburton Road
(Eastpoint is off this) continue down to the mini-roundabout on Hinkler RoadTurn either RIGHT
(more speed-humps and a set of lights, but you don't turn off anywhere - so skip the rest of this paragraph) or LEFT (fewer - and much smoother! - humps and less distance, but you have to navigate:) after shops and final hump (within sight of a roundabout) turn RIGHT into Pepys Avenue, LEFT at T-junction (Farringford Road) and RIGHT at the next (Byron Road). Take next LEFT, opposite phone-box, into Thornhill Avenue(both routes again): LEFT at T-junction
(lights-controlled on longer route) into Thornhill Park Road . Past Texaco garage and The Biffern(e) pub on left, the road starts running downhill
Turn RIGHT at bottom of second dip (not the one with the traffic islands, but the one with a right-turn lane, and you can see clear up the hill ahead) signed HAREFIELD (sign rather obscured by foliage, especially in summer)
2nd LEFT is Taunton Drive (with phone box at bottom of hill)
"The First" is first house on right (with holly hedge) not the bungalow on the corner
1st RIGHT, as hill begins to flatten out, is Burnham Chase
