Paul's sensitive and yet fun approach to his live performances puts him among the most respected artists on the British acoustic music scene today.
He has been introduced (much to his embarrassment) as one of the greatest acoustic guitarists in the world. It is easy to see why when you see the dazzling array of styles he performs with effortless brilliance, but at the same time considers himself as a singer of songs, rather than a guitar technician.
Paul has a rich musical background that has progressed through working with Phil Beer, The Arizona Smoke Revue, Pete Seeger and, currently, The Joyce Gang (recently heard to great acclaim on SS Shieldhall).
Eight albums with bands, three highly acclaimed solo albums and over one hundred and fifty session credits have still left time for Paul to tour every concert venue, theatre and festival in Britain plus many tours in the USA and Europe. Cabaret in the West Indies and newsreading on US radio are but two other strings to his guitar.
A great performance guaranteed! Catch him live.
"Always an incisive guitarist and, over time, has developed a smoothness and depth in his singing voice together with estimable song-writing skills."... Folk Roots
It's not that Vin does anything radically different from his compadres - he just does it better! He's a more interesting singer and a funnier comedian - the same songs sound more alive and so do his anecdotes. His own thought-provoking songs have the edge. He is just a superb act and deservedly popular - book early and we really mean it.

“Hilary has a Rolls Royce of a voice, one of the defining sounds of English folk music.”
“Hilary Spencer’s voice is worth crossing deserts and
mountains to hear“
STEVE EDGE, organiser, Rogue Folk Club, Vancouver BC
Review of 'Afterimage':
“Anyone who has seen Artisan will know the voice of Hilary Spencer. She is an exceptional singer who, with apparent ease is able to move from the strongly delivered ‘Broomfield Wager’ through the gentle poignancy of
’Alice White’ to the absurdity of ‘My Husband’s Got No Porridge In Him’ - A serious singer who does not take herself too seriously. There isn’t a track I dislike, my favourites being the haunting ‘Frobisher Bay’ and the amusingly serious ‘Why Am I Painting The Living Room’. It’s a CD I’ll be playing again and I urge you to give it a listen no matter what your musical taste. ”
