Fo'c'sle Programme October 1999

1 Anything Goes with King John's

King John's Morris Men have a longstanding association with the Fo'c'sle, some members in common and a lot of interest was taken by sadly missed former Fo'c'sle organiser, Terry Gregory. Like many men's Sides, King John's relax after dancing with seriously enjoyable Song Sessions in the pub. Tonight they would like to share the fun with the rest of us. Other contributors will be welcome as usual at an Anything Goes.

8 Pete Castle

20 years a folk-singer, storyteller, community musician, songwriter - Pete is all those, but most of all a wonderfully listenable singer of ballads, using the tradition as a 'springboard not a straitjacket' (Rock'n'Reel). Heard regularly on Radio Derby, he delights both the most serious of folkies and the lay-person who would not usually go to a folk event.

15 Anything Goes

Perform, listen, bring a partner and do a set, read a poem, fetch the beer - anything.

29 Phil & Pippa Lyons

Well-known and loved at the Fo'c'sle from their Soton days and now making it nationally - Towersey and Saffron Walden last year. Remember 'Kissagram Kate' at Pete Harris' birthday party? Impressive talent, Pippa's rich and lovely voice and Phil's skilful guitar with some great songs.
