During the 1998 Fieldworks Productions tour (inc Salisbury, Whitby and Southern Ireland) she acted and sang the part of 'Rose Ealey' and assisted with the musical direction of Mick Ryan's wonderfully evocative musical drama "The Voyage". In November that year, she performed with guitarist and songwriter Barry Wake as the support act to Rolf Harris in Tredegar, South Wales (her home town). In January 2000, Carrie was presented with the 1999 SCoFF Ron Myles Award, recognising that she has "made a significant contribution to the promotion of folk music and dance in the Southern Counties".
Folk on Tap accurately describes Carrie as having "a lilting Welsh voice" and "a (lovely) clear vocal style".
