  • Titchfield from the Year Dot Project, Titchfield Abbey (and Village), now postponed until 2005.   • Sore Fingers Week British Bluegrass Summer [Spring?] School at Kingham School in the Cotswolds 28 March-1 April 2005. Fiddle (Old Time and Bluegrass), Banjo (Old Time and Bluegrass), Mandolin, Dobro (Resophonic Guitar), Autoharp (Diatonic and Chromatic), Double Bass, Guitar and Vocals. In 2005 we are also introducing a song-writing workshop for the first time.. Since the music has its roots in North America, it follows that most of the tutors are invited from the United States. This ensures Sore Fingers provides the best tuition for Bluegrass and Old Time music available outside of the North American continent. In addition to classroom instruction there are a number of additional activities involving the music.

  • Caversham Charity Folk Festival Summer Festival 2005 24 - 26 June 2005. The current proposal is to hold a Summer Festival along similar lines to the recently successful Winter Warmer Festivals: i.e. taking place mainly at pubs in and around Caversham. It coincide with the Reading Waterfest on June 25th, and it is anticipated that some artists will appear at both events.

  • Sidmouth Folk Week 2005 will be Friday 29 July to Friday 5 August 2005. Several individuals and organisations have been planning their own events in the town during the first week in August following the withdrawal of the previous organisers. Although the organisers of each event, or series of events, will be responsible for their own activities, an umbrella website had been set up on www.sidmouthfolkweek.org.uk and was to contain details of events and venues and, in due course, performers and ticket prices. This has not so far taken off, and readers are directed instead to www.seered.co.uk/folk51.htm which has regularly uptated news and critical assessments. There are also links to the websites of individual event organisers, where these exist, and ticket arrangements. There are currently no plans for a season ticket, but visitors to the town will be able to purchase tickets for individual events in advance, just like other arts festivals.   • White Horse Folk Festival 12-14 Aug 2005, Grove, Nr Wantage, Oxfordshire. Small, friendly Festival. We start on Friday evening with a singaround, music session and a late night session. On Saturday & Sunday morning and Saturday afternoon there are workshops, theme sessions or informal 'Meet the Artists' with festival guests. Lunchtimes bring the Big Sings in The Bell P.H. The festival closes on Sunday afternoon after the lunchtime Sing. How To Find Us - Grove is a village neighbouring the town of Wantage in Oxfordshire. Upon reaching Grove follow signs for "Grove Technology Park" until you see signs for "WHFF". Camping: We have camping space for caravans, tents & campers on the Grove Recreation field and we use the facilities at Grove Rugby Club, including the toilets, showers and bar.   • The Hobbs Farm Music Festival, 10-11 September 2005 at Hobbs Farm, Bilsham Road Yapton, Sussex. In support of and organised by 4SIGHT (West Sussex Association for the Blind). The 2005 festival will see 18 bands perform over two days in the beautiful surrounding of the barn and courtyard. At this event the National Youth Folklore Troupe of England (NYFTE) will be holding regional auditions and a workshop in traditional music playing and playing for morris dancing at 9.30 am in the Town Hall, Market Place, CHIPPING NORTON followed by a performance in the afternoon.   • The 14th Annual 'Charlie Gaisford' Memorial Folk n Bluegrass Charity Concert takes place on Saturday 3rd December 2005 at the Riddell Hall, Deans Lane, Walton on the Hill, Tadworth, Surrey..7pm (Prompt Start) until 11pm..and this year, any profits will go to the RNLI (each years concert accounts' are sent to Rick Townend for inspection). Bands confirmed so far are Grass Roots, Betty Davila & the Acoustic Astronauts, Monroes Revenge, The Morris Boys, Southdown Ramblers, Street Legal, Deep River, The One Three Hillbillys and Biggin Hillbillys.
