Southern Counties Artistes

1. Club and Concert Artistes

Including also children's entertainers for all ages, booth puppeteers, jugglers, fakirs, magicians etc

2. Ceilidh and other Dance Bands and Callers

This list is intended to be comprehensive within the SCoFF area and for artistes who either have or could realistically expect to guest (or at least to be featured) at a SCoFF Club or Venue. Inevitably my knowledge decreases in proportion to the distance from Southampton, so please let me know if you can give me names which should be included. Brief descriptions are gradually being added, particularly for artistes without separate websites. Value judgements will inevitably creep into these, or else they would be bland and ultimately unhelpful. I have endeavoured to be positive and emphasise strengths rather than weaknesses, as I would for guests at our own Club. Not all the remarks are my own, but I am the filter through which they have passed so if any offence is caused, whether by inclusion or omission, it is to me that you should complain. Comments here do NOT represent official SCoFF policy.

The two sections are not rigid and the second is for the convenience of those particularly seeking a dance band. I am very happy to include more such bands in the first section (as with, eg, Belshazzar's Feast) if they are also looking for Club and Concert gigs. Traditionally a ceilidh includes both dance and music/song sessions, and SCoFF would be very pleased to see that practice on the increase.
